The video streaming giant plans Squid Game reality show with big cash prize, no fatal consequences
Squid Game is not just a fictional TV show anymore. Soon, it will also be a reality show. Netflix has given the green light for the “biggest reality competition series ever,” the streaming service announced on its website.
In the original show, 456 people play children’s games for a chance to win money. Losers die. But for Squid Game: The Challenge, the worst possible fate will be elimination from the show.
The new show will feature the largest cast for a reality show. 456 contestants, the company said in its statement. It will also have the largest cash prize $4.56 million (￥610 million).
It will be filmed in the U.K. but the makers are looking for English speakers “from any part of the world.”
Just days before the announcement, Netflix renewed the fictional TV show for a second season.

Tokyo：Ueno station tests platform “sounds” for deaf
A train station in Tokyo started reproducing platform announcements and the sounds of train arrivals and departures onto a screen in the form of text and sign language to help deaf and hard-of-hearing travelers.
The trial project, developed with Fujitsu, began at Ueno Station and will run through December 14th.
East Japan Railway said it aims to provide such travelers with a safer and more convenient travel experience.
In the trial, station announcements and train sounds are picked up by microphones and converted into a text and onomatopoeic descriptions in real time using artificial intelligence, before being displayed on a screen above vending machine.

The car accident
A woman and a man are involved in a car accident, both of their cars are totally demolished but amazingly neither of them are hurt.
After they crawl out of their cars, the woman says, "Wow, just look at our cars! There's nothing left but fortunately we are not hurt. This must be a sign from God that we should meet and be really good friends."
The man thinking there might be a bright side to this, replied, "I agree with you completely."
The woman continued, "And look at this, here's another miracle. My car is completely demolished but this bottle of wine didn't break. Surely we must drink this wine and celebrate our good fortune."
Then she hands the bottle to the man. The man shakes his head in agreement, opens it and takes a few very large swigs from the bottle and then hands it back to the woman.
The woman takes the bottle, immediately puts the cap back on, and hands it back to the man. The man asks, "Aren't you having any?"
The woman replies, "No. I think I'll just wait for the police."
