Each company is different, and some no longer have a party at all but the traditional type of party is usually held after 5:00 on the last day of work before the brief Christmas holiday. Parties may include humorous skits, live music and a chance for employees to show their special talents. The company usually pays for the entertainment, food and drink.
Non–traditional companies may invite the employee’s whole family for lunch, with a Santa Claus who gives out gifts to the children. Or the employees may collect food and toys and invite underprivileged families to a party to share the spirit of Christmas.
