Mexico City art museum invites dogs, masters to view exhibition of modern art
Dogs and the special bond they have with humans have inspired artists for thousands of years. Now, the Museo Tamayo in Mexico City has put together an exhibition of modern art pieces that both humans and their furry friends can visit.
Lorenza Errasti, curatorial assistant for the museum’s collection, said the exhibition is a selection of works from the collection. The exhibition was designed so that both dogs and owners can enjoy the works.
Mila Cohen, a sixth-grade student who visited the exhibition, said she appreciated the idea that she could take her dog, Sakura. “I like to take my dog everywhere,” she said near a Max Ernst painting.
Other artists at the exhibition include Haris Epaminonda and Mario Garcia Torres. The exhibition is the second edition of #ArteyPerros, or “Art and Dogs.” It runs until Nov. 5.

Japan government to give money to develop rice that will help hay fever sufferers
The Japanese government plans to give money to develop a genetically modified rice to alleviate hay fever symptoms, government sources said. The aid will be part of economic stimulus measures. Clinical trials of the rice are set to begin in fiscal 2024, the sources said.
The rice will be powdered and processed into tablets and capsules. The government plans to commercialize the drug within the next 10 years.
The Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries has been working on the rice since fiscal 2000. Researchers are modifying rice to contain peptides from Japanese cedar pollen allergens.
More than 40% of people in Japan suffer from allergies to Japanese cedar pollen.
Early exposure to the allergens before hay fever season may relieve allergy symptoms.
